Yvonne—We're all sending our thoughts and prayers to everyone recovering from the storm. Voter turnout is being disrupted in key states like OH and PA. So the rest of us need to redouble our efforts because the election is so close—we've set a new goal of 5,000 of us making calls from parties this weekend—can you join in?

I don't just want Mitt Romney to lose on November 6th—I want there to be no doubt about it.
See, if this race ends up as close as the polls say it will, Republican voter suppression and intimidation could make all the difference—the difference between a second Obama term and all of us getting used to saying "President Romney."
I don't want to get used to that. Do you? And we don't have to. If we all step it up this weekend and create a surge of grassroots people power by hitting the phones, we'll win by enough to overcome the Republican effort to steal the election.
MoveOn members are hosting nearly 500 Get Out The Vote call parties this weekend to recruit badly needed volunteers in swing states like Ohio and Florida for the final push. Matthew S. is throwing a party in Chicago on Saturday at 12:00 PM. Can you come?
I was born in an America where, because of race or money, many people couldn't vote. I never thought we'd go back to that, but that's exactly where today's Republican Party is taking us. They passed racist voter suppression laws in key states, they've run ad campaigns to scare people in low-income neighborhoods out of voting, and now they're training activists by the thousands to intimidate progressive voters at the polls on election day.
So let's win big. Let's make sure no state comes down to a handful of votes. Let's make sure this election doesn't get decided by the courts—especially not the Supreme Court.
I'm going to be out there every day between now and the election making sure voters know what's at stake, know how to go vote, and know their rights at the polls.
I like saying "President Obama." I don't want to learn anything new. Please, join in before it's too late.

If you missed the October 9th deadline to register to vote in the upcoming General Election, you can still register during the current grace period. You must register in person and then immediately vote during that same visit. You will need to present two forms of identification, at least one of which shows your current address. You can do so until November 3rd at 69 W. Washington St, 6th Floor, Monday to Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 3 p.m.

If you are already registered, you can vote early from Monday, October 22nd to Saturday, November 3rd at various locations across Chicago, regardless of where you live in the city.
Because population density is low due to demolition of nearby housing, the Chicago Bee Library @ 3647 S. State Street, provides no wait early voting regardless of where you live in the city.

Early Voting for the November 6, 2012 General Election will be offered from Mon., Oct. 22 through Sat., Nov. 3.
Voters registered in the City of Chicago may use any Early Voting site in the city, regardless of where the voters live.
Voters don't need reasons or excuses to use Early Voting -- but voters do need to present government-issued photo identification to use Early Voting.
Ballots cast in Early Voting are final. After casting ballots in Early Voting, voters may not return to amend, change or undo ballots for any reasons. It is a felony to vote more than once -- or to attempt to vote more than once -- in the same election.
All 51 locations will be open Monday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Three locations (the Board's offices at 69 W. Washington, Welles Park and Mount Greenwood Park)also will be open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays in addition to being open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
