Exhibition Open Through January 22, 2017
Women Hold Up Half the Sky identifies one of the central moral challenges of the 21st century - full equality for the world's women. Inspired by the award-winning book Half the Sky, this beautifully designed exhibition challenges visitors to take action to improve the lives of women and girls locally and globally.

Join author and acclaimed Holocaust scholar Dr. Rochelle G. Saidel, Founder and Executive Director, Remember the Women Institute, as she shares women's personal stories and reflections from her landmark research, and projects that gave Jewish women their place in Holocaust history.

Women of "Louder Than A Bomb"
Hip-Hop Inspired Live Performance
Thursday, November 3, 7:00 - 8:30 pm
 

This uplifting and entertaining live performance features Young Chicago Authors (YCA) performers and combines the creativity of the famous youth poetry festival Louder Than A Bomb with current issues that women and girls face.


Performers include YCA Associate Artistic Director and poet Jamila Woods. Jamila's recent debut solo album "HEAVN" has received rave reviews by Pitchfork and the Chicago Tribune.
The event is hosted by Youth Poet Laureate and YCA Teaching Artist E'mon Lauren

No Más Bebés tells the landmark story of a small group of Mexican immigrant women who sued county doctors, the state of California, and the U.S. government after they were forcibly sterilized while giving birth at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center during the late 1960s and early 1970s.

This award-winning film explores women's rights to oversee their maternal health and provides inspirational lessons for today.

These risks are exacerbated by socioeconomic differences. Hear from maternal health experts who will discuss local and global challenges and solutions.
