MacArthur Alexander
MacArthur
"Mac" Alexander grew up in and around his hometown of Lexington,
Mississippi. He was the youngest of 1 1 children. He graduated from the
Church Of God In Christ-sponsored Saints Industrial Junior College and
Academy in Lexington and then matriculated to Mississippi Valley State
College (now University). His studies were interrupted, as he was
drafted into the U.S. Army at the start of the Vietnam War.
He was
wounded by enemy mortar fire and received a Purple Heart and other
commendations for his valor. Upon rehabilitation and release from the
military, Alexander moved to Chicago and began his career as an
entrepreneur. His first business venture was a record shop, and is now
the owner of many businesses, including the famous MacArthur's
Restaurant on Madison Street in the Austin Community.
Jonathan Axel Tate
Jonathan Axel Tate, a Sergeant in the
Illinois
Army National Guard assigned to the 108th Sustainment Brigade, just
returned from his deployment in Kuwait, after previously serving in the
United States Air Force and United States Army. Sgt. Tate serves the
community as State Rep. Ford's Community and Veterans Outreach
Coordinator for the 8th District.
